Fence Installation in Carolina Beach, NC

Carolina Beach is a town, not just a strip of rentals, and that shows up in the work. In the same week we might fence a small year-round lot off Lake Park Boulevard, a rental a short walk from the boardwalk, and a new build with a pool out toward Snows Cut. The two requests that come up more than any others are keeping a yard private from whoever is next door this week, and putting a proper barrier around a pool.

Pool enclosures on a rental block

If the house rents, the pool fence is not a formality. It has to satisfy the barrier requirements that apply at the address, it has to latch reliably every single time a guest lets it swing shut, and it has to do that while sitting in salt air. Aluminum handles all three. The SolarShield powder coat holds its finish against sun and salt, the hardware is built to keep working rather than seizing, and there is no annual repaint eating into the season.

Low ground and high water

Sand drains quickly, which fools people into thinking drainage is never an issue on Pleasure Island. The water table sits high, low yards hold water after tropical rain, and surge finds the same low spots every time. None of that has to be a problem. Vinyl and aluminum are unaffected by sitting in water, treated posts in concrete handle the rest, and thoughtful placement of the fence line keeps the worst of it out from under the boards. What matters is that someone actually looks at the grade before quoting.

Privacy without the sail

Nearly everyone here wants privacy, and a completely solid panel is the most exposed thing you can put in a beach yard. Shadowbox construction screens the yard, looks identical from your side and the neighbor’s, and lets wind move through instead of pushing against it. Where a solid vinyl line makes sense, PrivacyLock panels lock together for a tight wall and we size the footings up to carry the extra load. Sandy soil offers a post very little side grip, so on this island the concrete does the work.

We answer the phone at any hour, any day of the week, which matters when a storm has just come through and you need someone out. Call (910) 765-0965 for a free on-site estimate, and we will confirm what the town requires for your lot before anything gets built.

Carolina Beach Fence Questions

What is the right fence around a pool at a beach house?

Aluminum, in nearly every case. It does not rot, it never needs repainting between seasons, and self-closing, self-latching gate hardware comes standard on our pool enclosures. We build to the pool barrier requirements in force for your address and confirm them before the job is scheduled.

My yard holds water. Will that ruin a new fence?

It depends on the material and the post work. Vinyl and aluminum do not care about standing water. Wood does, which is why we use treated posts set in concrete and, where the layout allows, route the fence line off the lowest run of the yard. Show us where the water goes during the estimate and we will plan around it.

How much fence do people lose in a storm?

Less than you would think when it was built for the exposure. The failures we get called out to fix are usually undersized footings, corroded gate hardware, or a solid privacy panel that was built like an inland fence. Spaced pickets and shadowbox shed wind instead of catching it, and that one decision changes how a fence line comes through a tropical system.

Can I get the cottage look without maintaining wood?

That is what HeartWood is for. It gives vinyl a wood-grain texture and color without the sanding, staining, and board swapping that real wood demands a block from the ocean. It is a common choice on Pleasure Island for exactly that reason.
