Gates are the moving part and the part guests interact with, so they are where a beach rental fence usually shows its age first. We hang them so they stay in adjustment, use latches that keep working when they are wet and salty, and where a pool is involved we build the barrier and the gate hardware to the requirements that apply at your address. If the property is booked solid, we schedule the install into the quiet months.

Salt, sand, and a lot with water on both sides

Ocean Isle sits between the ocean and the waterway, with canals reaching back into the island, so most lots have salt water close on at least one side. Salt in the air corrodes fasteners and any bare steel year-round, and it gets to the small components first. Sand solves the drainage problem and creates a footing problem, because it drains as fast as anything but gives a post very little to grip when wind loads the fence sideways or lifts at it. We set footings deeper and wider than an inland lot would need and tighten post spacing on the exposed runs.
